Learn more about Philipp Seidel here.
Philipp Seidel received his first guitar lesson at the age of 7 at the music school in Hoyerswerda. Upon accomplishing his “Oberstufenabschluss” in his early music education, he studied his bachelor's degree in classical guitar at Cottbus University (BTU) under guitarist Bernhard Dolch. Since then he has been able to discover a wonderful music journey and has as well adopted a stronger affinity with guitar. After completing his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with Distinction, he began to study Konzertexamen, an elite programme at the BTU equivalent to a Master's degree for intensive artistic training. During his studies he received master classes from Zoran Dukic, Marco Tamayo, Judicaël Perroy, Thomas Müller-Pering, Marko Topchii and Marcin Dylla, among others. In April 2024 he won the 1st prize at the XVI International Competition "Giovani Musicisti - Città di Treviso" in the solo guitar category. Apart from being a solo performer, he has also initiated chamber music projects with other great musicians. Philipp Seidel is also the 1st Prize winner at the International Music Competition in Chieti, Italy at the Marrucino Theater in 2019, together with his flutist duo, Junyuan Tan.
He has been successfully teaching his passion for music and his knowledge of the guitar at the Hoyerswerda Music School or as a private teacher since 2017. In 2020, he began to arrange well-known melodies for the guitar. Due to the great popularity of his arrangements, they are distributed on musicnotes.com. In addition to numerous self-produced music videos on YouTube, he has released several singles and albums of his music on audio streaming services such as Spotify, Apply Music and Amazon Music.
