Learn more about Philipp Seidel here.
Philipp Seidel, born in Hoyerswerda, Germany, received his first guitar lessons in his hometown, where his exceptional musical talent soon became evident. At the age of sixteen, he was accepted into the gifted-student program at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg (BTU). He went on to study Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy at the BTU, graduating with distinction.
He continued his education in the artistic postgraduate program under Bernhard Dolch (Duo Guitartes), completing this degree as well with distinction. Additional artistic guidance came through studies with Anne-Kathrin Gerbeth. Currently, Philipp Seidel is pursuing a Master of Music at the Münster University of Music, studying in the renowned guitar class of Marcin Dylla.
Throughout his musical career, Philipp Seidel has won first prizes at international competitions—as a soloist and chamber musician—and has received significant artistic inspiration through masterclasses with world-renowned artists such as Zoran Dukic, Marco Tamayo, Thomas Müller-Pering, and Judicaël Perroy.
Philipp Seidel maintains an active concert schedule, performing both as a soloist and together with orchestras such as the Open Symphonic Orchestra Cottbus. He is particularly committed to bringing classical guitar music to audiences beyond traditional concert halls, inspiring listeners who might otherwise have little contact with this genre.
Since 2017 he has shared his passion for music and guitar with young musicians as a dedicated teacher, working in music schools, privately, and in masterclasses.
Another significant focus of his artistic work is arranging. In recent years, he has created classical guitar arrangements of music from films, series, video games, and anime. His arrangements have been met with an exceptionally positive response and are published on musicnotes.com. In addition to producing numerous music videos on YouTube, he has released recordings of classical works and his own arrangements on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Amazon Music.
