Learn more about Philipp Seidel here.
Philipp Seidel was born in Hoyerswerda, Germany, where he received his first guitar lessons at the age of 7. At 16, he was accepted into the gifted and talented programme at the University of Cottbus (BTU). Philipp went on to study instrumental and vocal pedagogy, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction. He is currently completing post-graduate artistic studies in the class of Bernhard Dolch of the renowned Duo Guitartes, with additional lessons from Anne-Kathrin Gerbeth. Throughout his musical career he has won first prizes at international competitions - both as a soloist and as a chamber musician - and has gained valuable knowledge and inspiration for his further artistic development in numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Zoran Dukic, Marco Tamayo, Marcin Dylla, Thomas Müller-Pering and Judicaël Perroy. Philipp Seidel has a busy concert schedule where he also enjoys performing at venues outside of classical concert halls to inspire people who would otherwise never have come into contact with classical guitar music. He also performs as a soloist with orchestras such as the Open Symphonic Orchestra Cottbus. Since 2017, he has been successfully passing on his passion for music and his knowledge of the guitar to talented young musicians in music schools, as a private teacher or by giving masterclasses. In 2020 he started to arrange famous melodies for guitar. Due to the great popularity of his arrangements, they are distributed on musicnotes.com. In addition to numerous self-produced music videos on his internationally renowned YouTube channel, he has released several recordings of classical works as well as albums of his arrangements on audio streaming services such as Spotify and Amazon Music.
